Dubrovnik

The Dalmatian coast:
Where the Balkans Meet the Mediterranean

April 29 - 8, 2023 | Maximum Group Size: 15 Participants | Availability: Open

The beauty of the rugged sea shore, backed by mountains- the Adriatic Dalmatian Coast is one of Europe’s best-kept secrets. Starting in Dubrovnik with its wealth of heritage in the arts and culture, we will then travel north to explore the ancient cities of: Split, which lies within the walls of the Palace of Diocletian built between 295 and 305 AD; Zadar, the ancient capital of Byzantine Dalmatia with its many architectural styles; to Opatija, originally a small fishing village turned into a retreat for nobility of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and ending in the Italian town of Trieste. Come explore where Balkan history and the warmth of the Mediterranean people and climate meet to make, as George Bernard Shaw once remarked, “the Pearl of the Adriatic”.
